Getting to Arran
From the south of the UK or central Scotland, head for the M74, then the A71 exit at Strathaven. Follow the signs to Irvine, then take the A78 to Ardrossan. The ferry terminal is well signposted.
Ferry Bookings are strongly advised if you are planning to bring a car on this crossing. Please contact Caledonian MacBrayne on: 08000 665000, or book using their online service at: www.calmac.co.uk

Trains from Glasgow to Ardrossan take just under an hour and are timed to meet the ferry. The boat journey lasts just 55 minutes.

From the north of Scotland and the Western Isles, you can reach Arran via the smaller (unbookable) ferry from Claonaig on the Kintyre Peninsula. The service runs to Lochranza on the northern tip of Arran and takes 30 minutes.
