By car: From the south of the UK, head for the M74, then the A71 turn off at "Strathaven". Drive to Irvine, then head for the A78 to Ardrossan and the Ferry terminal. From the north of Scotland or western isles, you can catch the summer‑only ferry service from Claonaig (mainland) to Lochranza (north Arran).
